This clock can be used as both a puzzle and a teaching time clock. The hands are large and easy to see. The puzzle helps children to understand the numbers as they locate them around the clock. The pieces are all cut into the same shape so that mistakes can be made and children will learn the right sequence of numbers to make up the 12 hours. The pieces are raised which makes it easier to insert and then remove the piece to it's correct location.
Raised Piece Puzzles are the next step after Pegs. The puzzle pieces are raised higher than the frame background which allows small fingers to easily manipulate the pieces. This extends fine motor development. Puzzles help children to develop a range of skills. These include visual motor skills, proprioception, vestibular, tactile and fine motor. These skills are all pre-reading essentials and are extremely important in early childhood development.
